maternity session – central new jersey

I met up with this sweet couple on a very windy day in central New Jersey. It actually reminded me of Oklahoma! They are anxiously awaiting their first child, a girl, in May. I’m pretty sure she’s gonna have the coolest accent, with a father from New Zealand and a mother from NY. Dad did a wonderful job playing photographer’s assistant making sure Jennifer’s clothes were just right, getting a step ladder, moving anything I asked. Thanks Jamie for that! Jennifer and Jamie – enjoy your sneak peek!

I am blogging early this morning while watching snow fall in NJ on the first day of spring. Truth be told, I don’t like seeing the snow out there. We had a little taste of warm weather this week and I’ve got spring fever B.A.D.!

This past Sunday I drove up to see Elisha and her husband. They are excitedly expecting their first child, a baby boy, in the early part of April. Without further ado – I present Elisha and baby D.

old city | philadelphia

Several weekends ago I met up with Amy Ro and Michele in Old City of Philadelphia (the historical part). It was great to catch up and play around with my 135mm lens (all images taken with the 135 – I’m in love!)

Mr. N with his momma!

I have no idea how I got this image! He was moving so fast (as toddlers do!) and making the sound of an elephant.

Mr. N LOVES to sing. That is what he is doing right here.

Amy’s sister was in town from DC. I was able to snag a few of her in her beautiful scarf!

twin boys | nashville, tennessee

While in Nashville this past week, I had the opportunity to photograph these beautiful twin boys. They are 5 weeks old and sweet as can be. They have a very proud older brother, Andrew, who loves (may be considered borderline obsessed) the movie Cars. 🙂 Thank you Bridget for allowing me to come into your home to photograph the boys.

Patrick is on the left, James on the right.

Patrick is on the left, James on the right. With a lot of bribery, we got Andrew to sit for a few pictures.  I love his expression – not sure if its love for the boys or the fact he was going to get a chocolate cupcake.

new york city | point & shoot camera

Part of our adventures in the northeast included seeing a taping of the Colbert Report (can be seen on Comedy Central at 11 EST). We completed that on Thursday (I will do another post with that picture and more details later). The taping was in the evening, so we went into NYC early to walk around.  I didn’t want to bring my camera gear for many reasons, so the P&S came out!  We went down to the Brooklyn Bridge and the WTC area. They are heavily edited and many of them have textures applied.  I may blow up one of the Brooklyn Bridge pictures to hang in our living room. Leave a comment telling me which one you think (I’ll probably print in B&W).

We wanted to see ground zero but they are in the process of building the memorial site. They have huge fences with pictures so you can’t really see in. I was a little bit bummed, but just being down there is something else. One of the buildings next door has very little damage – I was very surprised about this. This church is right across the street from the site. The towers would have been straight on.

I love the first bridge shot, what great perspective and how cool it would look blown up and in b/w.

kate | nashville, tennessee

My husband and I meet Matt and Jessica our first month in Nashville while playing trivia on Wednesday nights. It become quite a tradition to gather on Wednesdays to drink, discuss religion (since everyone but myself attended Vanderbilt Divinity School), talk sports, etc. (you probably didn’t know that divinity people actually drink and have fun!)

On January 28, 2009 weighing in at 7 pounds, 15 ounces, Matt and Jessica welcomed into the world their first child (and first grandchild for both sides!), Katharine Barry. She is precious, strong-willed, content and happy-go-lucky! Thank you for letting me come take pictures! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Beautiful pictures of a beautiful baby, mom and dad. The picture composition is amazing. Great job.

Jessica - March 14, 2009 - 11:23 am

Thanks for capturing such beautiful glimpses of our baby girl, Kim! You spent so much time carefully and creatively setting up each set of shots–you are truly an artist with the camera!

It was great to see you and Anthony as well–such great memories of those Wednesday nights playing trivia! Were you there the night we got engaged? Matt actually proposed at my apartment when picking me up to go to trivia, so that weekly tradition is forever a part of our story!
