the f family | central jersey family photographer

Who doesn’t love to twirl and swirl and dance around the yard in a fairy skirt? I’m pretty sure I would if I had the right outfit! It was no different for this fairy!

When I brought out the hats, the excitement on Ms. C’s face was priceless. She wanted to go sit on the big swing and wear them all at the same time. Obviously that doesn’t work, but she still rocked them like no one’s business (and what are the odds that I’d bring two hats that already match her outfit?!?!). When it was time to leave, she had a hard time parting with them, that’s how much she loved them!

home ec projects | second edition | kim learns to sew

A quick update on my sewing shenanigans! I seriously have the sewing itch. I love looking at fabrics and thinking of what I can make with them. How I can be crafty and save money. Here is one project from my Home Ec class (yes you will notice from this post that I am skipping around a little bit – project 8 is making curtains. They don’t scare me but I feel we are pretty set on curtains for the time being. I really have to think of the right fabric to put in our bedroom before I do it! Hopefully when things slow down a bit I’ll get to the curtains!).

Living in the community that we do fosters family life a great bit. And with that comes baby showers!!! This is the first time I have actually made something for someone. I’m really proud how all three items turned out. The reversible bib is the official Home Ec project, and I went a little further and made a burp cloth + a diaper bag tag. I have to say that Anne loved them and that is the biggest compliment!

the n family | new york city family photographer

Glenys and Roland were flying from Australia to spend time with their grandchildren and wanted to document this precious time together. While driving up to West New York, New Jersey (seems like the people who founded that city weren’t very creative!), it was overcast and windy. Shouldn’t be too bad, but then add to it being on the Hudson River, it was quite cool and windy while walking along the pier. It’s definitely fall!!!

Thanks everyone for being champs and braving the wild weather!

j family | west windsor family photographer

Happy October 1st!! Where on earth has 2010 gone?!?!?!

I am honored when my clients chose me to be their photographer and the J family is no exception. Amy contacted me not long after Anthony and I moved to New Jersey but our schedules didn’t work out until just now. We met up at Tyler State Park in Bucks County, PA to get some fall photos and document their lives as it is right now. Amy + Matt, thanks for the park suggestion and being good sports!

This photo melts my heart!

Meet Jacob, the spunkiest, smartest little guy ever. He had me cracking up about using the computer (he’s only 3 people!) and going on to the web.

Sarene was pretty much content the entire time until we put her on her back. Otherwise she didn’t make a peep, even when she was hungry!

A family that skips rocks together stays together (love that that saying can be used in all situations about families doing things together).

grace elizabeth | 15 days new | west windsor newborn photographer

You will see over and over again most photographers think newborns should be photographed within the first two weeks of life (myself included), but Miss Grace had no problems sleeping in the buff at 15 days new.

Nothing sweeter than a new momma’s love for her child…

or a daddy’s love for his little girl.

three gals downtown | princeton family photographer

I met up with Holly and her girls on a gorgeous Friday evening in downtown Princeton to get some individual photos of the girls plus a photo of momma with them. Even though I’m not a momma yet, I do know the importance of having photos of you and your children. It’s especially rare for mom’s because they seem to always be behind the camera, and even more so with Holly since she’s a fellow photographer.

I rented the Canon 70-200 2.8L lens and played around with it during this session. I’m thinking the lens has now moved up the wishlist!!

You may have seen this photo on my facebook fan page – I couldn’t believe I got this photo of this fast moving kiddo! I did nothing to her eyes – they really are that blue. I really hope Anthony and I have blue-eyed babies!!!
