tiger hall kids | princeton commercial photographer

Several weeks ago I took some photos for Tiger Hall Kids (finally catching up on my blog!). Here is a small sampling of what the adorable place looks like along with a few kiddos! There is an open play time which is seriously one of the coolest things I’ve ever heard or seen. If you are needing to get your child out of the house when it’s raining/snowing/crappy weather or just want them to interact with other kids, Tiger Hall is definitely the place you need to take them!

How can you not learn in such a fun environment??

WOW! That place looks AWESOME! Love all the color and light. Wish we had a place like that here! Great shots!

kim learns to sew with a new machine!!!

My new gorgeous Bernina sewing machine courtesy of my parents! Merry Christmas to me!! There are a ton of different stitch options and the fabric just glides across. I’m totally in love with it!

All the goods of the machine in one convenient box (the red things are needles!)

A few updated projects from my Home Ec class.
As seen here I did complete the reusable grocery bag which I was using to carry samples to my clients. I didn’t like the finished look and I saw other “students” use a Skip to My Lou template to make a reversible bag. I am really proud of the way this turned out (too lazy to pull the samples out for the photo!)

I actually had this project finished for awhile (before I did the bib actually!) but I wanted to add the double bias tape to finish it off (which wasn’t called for in the original directions) and I struggled with pining it. Sewing the tape to the potholder was the first thing I did with my new sewing machine! I’m glad I waited to finish it because I knew I’d have been ripping out the seams multiple times if I had used the old machine!

These next two items aren’t actually part of the Home Ec class but I knew I wanted to make them for my sweet nephews for Christmas. Seemed easy enough, until I decided to add the ric rac! As you can see I successfully added ric rac to one and gave up on the 2nd (I tried three different times on that darn thing!). Ended up adding double bias tape. I do have to say I like the ric rac better – seems more complete.

My mom makes incredible baby blankets and she did Randon’s in this exact fabric. I thought it was fitting when I saw it at Joann’s to make his crayon roll-up in the same fabric (making darn sure that the Oklahoma State was seen on the outside!!!)

I bought a few coloring books and their Christmas from Aunt Kim and Uncle Anthony is complete!

atlantic city boardwalk

We can now official cross off Atlantic City from the proverbial bucket list! While my mom was here, we drove down that Saturday to gamble and walk the boardwalk. At one point I was up $300 and ended up coming home about $50 less than what I started out. Anthony and my mom on the other hand lost all of their money, but we really did have a grand time (although I highly doubt any of us will ever go back!)

That is apparently Anthony’s silly face in the couple shot! Go figure!

thanksgiving day at the schmidt home

Anthony and I hosted our first ever Thanksgiving with an incredible local turkey and some majorly fun company! We finished off multiple bottles of wine, ate way too much, played board games, and had some lively conversations throughout the entire day!

Our fab neighbors Katrina, Jonny, AJ and Emily! (love self timers!!!)

I wish I was creative enough to design our tablescape but I didn’t! These are all compliments of the HWTM Blog (the one where I won a grill, grill set, plateware and more!!!) in conjunction with Operation Shower. The minute I saw it in my google reader I knew I had to attempt it. I found all the right colored balls between Target and Michaels (thank goodness they are right next door to each other!) and spent a little bit of time hot gluing them to the sticks. Overall it was a very simple, seamless process!

The most amazing turkey I’ve ever had!!!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
