away for the week

I will be in San Antonio for Imaging USA – a huge photography convention until Thursday January 20th. I’m not sure how frequently I’ll be able to check emails/voicemail, so please be patient until I can return them.

To follow along with my previous post, I wanted to get some photos of Anthony with his brothers while we were in Oklahoma to give to my in-laws (and grandmothers!). We were on a time crunch as Taylor (on the far right/gray sweater) had to get back to Norman for work and Noah (center/white sweater) was getting ready for a week at Boy Scout Camp, but thankfully they squeezed me in!

I do have to brag a little about Noah (you wouldn’t know it since he’s the tallest of the bunch but he’s the baby and a sophomore in high school!!!) – he will be an Eagle Scout by the beginning of this summer!!! He’s finished his project (a flagpole outside the church) and is now serving his 6 months in a leadership position. Once that is complete, he along with 3 other guys will be Eagle Scouts. We are super proud of him!!!

siblings in the snow | princeton family photographer

This was officially my last session of 2010 being as it happened on New Year’s Eve Day! I don’t like waiting this long to post but after coming down with something from our nephews + pink eye, I spent much of last week taking it very easy!

There is something very endearing to me when a child contacts me saying their mom really wants professional portraits of the kids together. Typically it’s a holiday or birthday present and I’m so honored when it’s me they chose. Raj, Ricky, and Pooja were brave enough to walk into the snow and laugh heartily for me! It was very chilly and especially for California-living Raj who came in very breathable shoes! Thanks guys for being a little silly and having fun!

What a good lookin’ family!

I was able to get some real laughs out of them on this one!

Their mama will for sure LOVE these!

baby anthony | oklahoma child photographer

The last time I saw this kiddo, he was just a newborn but no more! He turned 5 months the day before I took these photos and he is one chunker! Unfortunately Megan had to work but she left out a few items for little Anthony to wear. I can’t get over baby jeans and the “Jim Tressel” sweater vest – they are just so darn precious! (and for the record, yes both Anthony and Jay made fun of the sweater vest several times as I was putting it on little A and during the photo shoot!)

Awww! SO sweet, Kim! I love that little hat. I had to chuckle about the sweater vest. Too cute!

the r family | oklahoma family photographer

One morning after Christmas I spent time with the R family in my hometown. What I love most about the holidays is the fact that everyone typically comes together and I love when I get to capture that for other families! Thankfully the weather in Oklahoma was nothing like the blizzard that hit NJ and the eastern seaboard and we were able to get outside for some jumping photos (have to get off some of that energy!!) Thanks Kathy and the entire R family for letting me come over!

Grandkids!

Beautiful family and images!!!

He is such an adorable chunky baby – love it!! The third one of him on his belly with his arms sprawled out is precious!!

happy 2011!!!

Happy 2011 Everyone!!!! I was a little MIA while we were visiting family in Oklahoma, but I’m back and ready to share lots!!

First up are some photos of our nephews. I can’t believe it had been 4 months since I last saw them and boy have they changed, Rylan especially. He is no longer a baby but almost a 2 year old (he wishes he was a 4 year old pretty much every.single.day!)

We were losing light fast and they were holding on to dear life but I got it!

This is his wonderment and awe face at anything related to Christmas (lights, Santa, Christmas tree, etc.)

My goal for our trip home was to get a photo of my brother with his boys. And I would call this a success (with a smile out of Rylan!!)

The wind was so cold that afternoon and poor dude had rosy cheeks and tears coming out of his eyes – but I still love it!

If you follow me on facebook you may have seen a video I posted of Rylan saying monster. It’s the funniest thing ever and he was saying it right here. His eyebrows are so expressive which makes him even more precious! And Randon was being pushed by Daddy, maybe a little too high but still adorable!

When we got home, I was in such a hurry to get the boys photos that I forgot my laptop was out. Rylan is notorious for getting into things he shouldn’t so I had to put it away before he started throwing the ole terrible 2 tantrum! While putting the laptop up I found building blocks that were mine growing up. Oh my heavens, I had no idea how popular they would be with both boys. So much so that Randon became possessive of them and wouldn’t let Rylan play. (notice the i-pone next to Randon)

I must say that when I saw Rylan start staking the blocks up 5-6 high I was really impressed. Both of these boys have grown leaps and bounds since last March when my parents got custody of them. They attend daycare 5 days a week full time and it really is paying off!

Can you hear him screaming into the phone? Cause I sure can!

Kim these are all so perfect! You have captured the essence of their age perfectly. I feel like I was there. I love each and every one.

These are precious. They look like such sweet boys and I can see why you love spending time with them! Great shots, Kim. Looks like a fabulous holiday!

our christmas decorations

Even though we are now in Oklahoma for the holidays, I wanted to share our Christmas decorations. We had a mishap with our tree base and ended up having to go buy another one (thought we’d have to get a new tree but thankfully we spent $15 for a new base verse $100+ for a tree!). And also be sure to check out the tree skirt – my mom made it for us and brought it with her when she came in November. I’m super excited that she had extra fabric and I’ll be making new stockings with it for 2011!
