boston through the iphone

A quick followup to my post last week about our time in Boston, with a few random iphone photos including a pit stop at Cheers, Beacon Hill, Harvard, Occupy Boston, Paul Revere’s Home, and the like! I always have an internal debate about whether I should lug my camera gear around on vacations or just use my iphone4S. After looking at these photos (it was the first true test with the new phone), I think I’ll be leaving my camera at home more often! I love the look and it’s a whole lot less editing! I have one more post from our elusive fall foliage trip into New Hampshire (though you get a small taste at the end of this post) coming up later this week.

holiday family session | princeton family photographer

Happy November ya’ll!! Starting the month off right with this adorable family! Luckily we moved the session to Friday afternoon as the snow hit us last Saturday. All the freak storms we’ve had this year is making for quite an eventful 2011. I think I’m ready for 2012 to not be so wild!!

Fun, gorgeous family!

This one took some time to warm up to me (the one on the right that is!) and I love that although he doesn’t have a huge smile on his face, you can tell in his eyes that it’s about to happen! By the end of the session, he wouldn’t stop giggling!

boston | the home of tunnel kingdom

This fall is really kicking my butt! I think the fact that I’ve been traveling so much has been a contributing factor. I feel I can never catch up! Last weekend Anthony + I drove up to Boston to meet my parents to see the elusive fall in the Northeast. In years past, the weekend we were there would have been peak time for the changing of the leaves. Not this year, but I’m so glad we went the weekend we did, since it snowed the past one! Who knows if the trees will even turn the vibrant colors that is the norm! Luckily Anthony + I get to see beautiful trees in the Princeton area, but we did have high hopes for Boston + New Hampshire. Such is life!

One thing I did not know about the city of Boston is the shear number of tunnels and not only that but you have to pay at least $3.50 each time to enter! Praise be that we have an EZ-Pass (though looking at the bill – we racked up some serious damage!). That is your fair warning for those who haven’t been but are hoping to one of these days!

On Friday we took one of the double-decker bus tours that all famous cities have (as touristy as it is, it’s the best way to see an entire city and get history behind it all!). We went to the Harvard campus (though I don’t have any photos to show today, I did get one or two with my iPhone), saw many other sites and finally got off at the Occupy Boston stop. We all had to go to the bathroom, I wanted to get photos, it was the perfect stop!

I have no words for this gentleman, other than I had to shoot from the hip to get this photo! Total hippy!

Our very last stop was a quick walk to Paul Revere’s home and then the Old North Church. It was rushed as we didn’t want to miss the last bus of the evening, but beautiful nonetheless.

I will have another post or two with iPhone photos and then our trip into New Hampshire to pick apples and see the foliage very soon!

colin | central jersey senior high school photographer

Colin will be going off to college next fall, and to celebrate the last year at home, mom wanted to highlight and honor this special time as a high school senior. It’s fitting that I’m writing this blog post in the city that may be pulling Colin to spend some of the best years of his life, Boston, Massachusetts. A lover of incredible architecture and writing, we were able to focus on both aspects meeting on Princeton University’s campus. The fedora alone makes me smile, but when he brought out his journal and feather pen, forget it!

If you are a high school senior in the Princeton area, would like photos taken, please contact me immediately. I only have a few openings left for the year!

toddler mania | princeton child photographer

What a refreshing warm-up this weekend after the cooler weather at the start of the week – anyone else take full advantage? Shooting outdoors in the fall has become my all-time favorite! Couple that with a smiley, happy-go-lucky toddler and you get perfection!

For those wondering, I did not touch Tyler’s eyes at all! They really are that blue, and mom played it up with the sweater combo too!

I promise to come back and share a few more photos from this session – it was one of my favs!

j family one year later | princeton family photographer

It was a cool, overcast morning and the planets seemed to not be in alignment but after a quick car ride from one location to another, a stop to get hot chocolate in Starbucks, we finally got smiles, laughs, and a few kisses too from everyone!

Do you remember this cute red head from last year? My how big he and his sister have gotten!

You are the best! Thank you for the outstanding pics. Even better than last year, although you would never know it from that crazy morning!
