hank and co. | princeton family photographer

Elaine and Nate are both PhD students at the seminary with one of the most adorable little boys Hank. I love that we were able to capture family photos before the holidays – it’s always such a lovely gift for the grandparents!

Seriously one of my favorite family photos ever. Elaine said they took it to a framer and he was blown away by the photo too. LOVE!
And we can’t do a session without a photo of mom and dad alone!

account disabled | what?!?!?

I woke up Friday morning to two emails from Facebook saying that my account was disabled. I seriously thought it was a spam email and went to log in to see if it was true. That photo above is what it tells me when I try to login. Unfortunately my account no longer shows up in the search and with that it took my business Facebook page. Utterly devastated doesn’t even seem to describe how I’m feeling right now. I probably shouldn’t be on google, looking at others experiences (ranging from their account deleted forever to getting it restored after a few weeks). I’ve been a faithful member of Facebook since 2005, my last semester in college. I have never once posted something obscene on my wall or violated their rules of conduct. But apparently via their FAQ page, I’m being accused as an “inauthentic” imposter. Oh, Facebook, in your crappy ways! I wish that they would do more investigating into something like this before deactivating an account. Though I haven’t heard back from Facebook, I know exactly how this happened – someone (whom shall remain nameless but I know exactly who he is) reported me as being fraudulent. It blows when all it takes to get your account deactivated is ONE single person to report you.

Thanks a lot Facebook for sucking myself and millions of users across the globe into your social media world and not caring one ounce about any of us.

A few words of advice for everyone out there – BACK UP your profile. Here are the directions that I took directly from the Facebook Help Center. It’s been a long time since I did this and I’m just praying that my entire account will be in tact once they look at my drivers license and see I’m a real person.

  1. Clickat the top right of any Facebook page and select Account Settings
  2. Click General in the left-hand column
  3. Click on “Download a copy of your Facebook data”
  4. Click Start My Archive

Other piece of advice, if you are an admin for a Page (i.e. business page), make sure to have one other person an admin. I remember someone else mentioning this awhile back and should have immediately made Anthony an admin. I believe that since I was the only admin, they removed my business page too.

I’m just praying that I will get an email from Facebook very soon saying my profile and business page are back. That’s really all I want.

UPDATE: As of Monday January 14th late evening, my account and business page were reactivated. The email I received was short and sweet saying everything should still be there. It was a relief to get that email, after stopping for gas on my way home from a newborn workshop in the DC area.

Yes, thank goodness everything is back in working order again! 🙂

emma | west windsor newborn photographer

I was looking back on my blog to find the downtown Princeton maternity session for this family and realized I posted photos on the facebook page only. Emma arrived just in time for Christmas, allowing me to squeeze her newborn session in right before we headed back to Oklahoma for two weeks. Little E was a dream and is totally the apple of both mommy and daddy’s eye.

Are you kidding me?!?!? Love!

A few of her adorable green and black nursery!

christmas tree farm | central jersey family photographer

I first introduced this family to the blogiverse two years ago. While it’s been that long since I’ve seen the boys, I did have the privilege to photograph a surprise party Jeff planned for their 10 year wedding anniversary last May. Ellie was completely surprised and now every other man in that room has big shoes to fill.

Loved the christmas tree farm we visited and the surprising warm weather on that fine Sunday morning.

This one ended up being on their christmas card – perfection!!

five on friday | november edition

1. Whoa, how is it almost December?!?!? I’m a tad in denial about the holidays being right around the corner.

2. My mom is in town this weekend – it makes me so happy to have her here! We went into NYC yesterday and saw the legendary Rockettes. Tonight we plan to go to Longwood Gardens, to take in the beautiful lights. It’s a bit crazy to think Anthony and I have lived in New Jersey for 5 years now and have never done either one of these lovely holiday traditions. Check and check!

3. A few years back I discovered a fabulous cooking blog – Smitten Kitchen. Deb recently published her first cookbook. You need to get it – I’m pretty sure I’ll try to make at least 75% of the recipes! (click photo to be taken to amazon!)

4. My friend Kelly has opened up the most adorable Etsy shop. She sells these “want, need, wear, read” tags that are PERFECT for the holidays. Go check her out, you won’t regret it!

5. I was introduced to this video last week and I can’t get it out of my head! You are welcome.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

smiley-est kid ever | princeton family photographer

Inspiration Through Art is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering people to give back, and make a difference through the beauty of art. I’ve been a photographer for the organization for a few years now (last session was featured here). When I started to get to know Sharon and Joel, I knew immediately that they should apply. Owen has cerebral palsy and VACTERL Association, which is a cluster of congenital conditions that often appear together (each letter stands for a different condition). Owen does not let these conditions stop him from living a full and fun life at 21 months old! He is such a strong, happy, vibrant little guy and is a delight and blessing to everyone who knows him!

I loved this session so much that I couldn’t help but share an abundance of photos. This first one is probably my favorite – not only is he wearing a bowtie and old man hat, but that sweater is one of the first items Sharon and Joel were given when they found out they were having a little boy. He looks so grown up here and is surrounded by so much love!

Another favorite! There is an entire series of these photos and I can just hear that laugh of his when the worm eats through each of the fruits!
