I am completely obsessed with twins – they are one of my favorite subjects to photograph. Evelynn + Emmett arrived seven weeks early, spent some time in the NICU, + had heart monitors on until just recently. Once the all clear came from the doctors, we scheduled this most perfect of newborn sessions. Two photos Emi requested – feet shot + the twins hugging. My number one goal is to please! Check + double check!

I’ve been so anxious to share this in home Princeton lifestyle newborn session with you!! Mr. Jonathan arrived right before the holiday madness + ended up being my first session of 2015. Every time I look through these images, I have a massive smile on my face. the big sister | princeton lifestyle newborn photography

When a dear friend entrusts me to capture the first moments of a family of four, there isn’t much more of an honor for me! When momma+daddy went to the hospital, I got to spend some quality time with Abby, including bringing her to meet baby Matthijs. Her excitement level was on par for a 2 year old, being extremely interested in everyone’s lunch instead of the new babe! A week later, when I came to photograph the family in their home, Abby had taken hold of the big sister role, grabbing blankets, showing him off, doing mostly what was asked of her. It was nearly impossible to narrow down the images I wanted to share, I LOVED everything about this lifestyle newborn photo session.

snowy princeton

I haven’t shared much personal work on here, but these can’t not be shared! Anthony+I went out on Tuesday to explore our “backyard”, to see the D&R Canal, to say that we went out in the snow. The same cannot be said for last year, when we kept indoors unless going to work! I love that a quick 5 minute walk allows us to be surrounded by this beauty.

Last January I made a resolution to get out more with my camera + capture the everyday. You can see more of my explanation on the personal blog + see two other photos in my series of #samelocationdifferentday. I had a hard time deciding to show the color or b+w, so I’m showing both!!! This land was “home” for us for 3 years. It’s wild to look out the window + imagine our little building that was once there.

I first met Justin+Nicki at a welcome BBQ for new families in 2013. The conversations are not appropriate for this blog but someone that has a sense of humor in our community is a sure-fire way to get an invite to dinner at our place! We instantly became friends. Then when discussing Christmas cards + photos, I just knew I had to photograph them in downtown Princeton. It was a freezing Saturday morning, but these two KILLED it.

When I went over to pull together outfits for our session, I saw the blue suitcase in their closet. Um, YES PLEASE! It held the cards at their wedding, so what better way to continue to use it, than in photos! When (in about 10 years!) they have a babe, that suitcase will make an appearance in the photos. I’m starting a tradition for them, + they don’t even know it!
