1. Easter weekend Anthony + I celebrated my 31st birthday with a cooking class at Sur La Table in QuakerBridge Mall. While I will have a full review of our experience on the personal blog very soon, I wanted to share an iPhone photo at the end of our class with some extremely large whisks.
2. This past weekend I taught a Zumba birthday party to a larger group of 7-8 year old girls. I had enough hula hoops for an activity that ranged in color from yellow to blue. There were 2 blue ones and man oh man those two were the coveted hoops. I didn’t think much of it (come on I don’t have children!) until one of the girls came up to tell me why everyone wanted it – Frozen of course! It’s called Elsa Blue from now on ladies and gents. While I still haven’t seen the movie, the message it is conveying is amazing. Not only do we not have to have a “prince charming” in a Disney movie but it’s also centered around the color BLUE!! Yay for diversifying the color scheme for boys and girls. Elsa Blue it is!
3. SPRING IS HERE!!!! This makes me more than giddy. Dogwoods are one of my favorite blooms and I’m glad I was able to get out and capture a few photos before the frost got the best of them!
4. I’ve been reading a bit lately (which isn’t really that unusual!!) and actually have two books that I’d recommend. The first, Orphan Train, is based on the orphan train movement in the late 1800s/early 1900s. I plowed through it in no time at all. The Goldfinch, just announced as a Pulitzer Prize in Fiction, is a hefty book (over 700 pages!) but so far I’m extremely engaged. If you are looking for a good book, pick up one or both of these!
5. We are huge OKC Thunder fans in this house. This week, Kevin Durant was named MVP of the NBA. He is a class act and so very humble. His entire acceptance speech is long but here is a sweet moment when he is thanking his momma (and why he came to the sport in the first place!).
There is still time to book a spring family or child photo session with Kim Schmidt Photography. If you are in the Princeton area, and would like professional photos taken, now is the time to get in touch.
